This condiment is very popular at Indian, Pakistani & Turkish restaurant. This restaurant style dip is quick and easy to make, just 2-minutes and you have a perfect chutney for your dishes.
1cupGreek yogurt (thick or hung yogurt with no water)
1tspSalt (to taste)
1tspColman's Mint Sauce
Instructions
Whisk the yogurt until it’s smooth and no longer grainy
Add the Mint sauce
Add the Salt (add salt to taste, start off with 1/2 tsp first and add a little till you reach your desired taste).
Chill in the fridge and serve when required.
Notes
I used Greek yogurt but any thick yogurt is good. If you don’t have thick yogurt, strain your yogurt in a muslin cloth or strainer to remove the excess water. The less water the better.
Taste and adjust the consistency by adding water to get a thinner consistency.
You can enhance the flavor of this dip by adding in a few variations. I tried mixing the sumac and onion salad into this dip and it worked. This recipe is also my base recipe for my Mobeen Chutney (recipe to follow). Feel free to play around with the ratios and add in whatever spices and ingredients you’d like i.e. chaat masala, freshly ground black pepper, black salt.
