Here’s a flavour‑packed version pulled from trending recipes, adapted so it’s easy to follow and tweak. Let’s get cooking!
📝 Ingredients
-
- 2 ripe tomatoes, finely chopped or grated (optional)
- 1 small red onion, finely chopped
- 1 small cucumber, finely chopped (optional)
- 1 green chili or ½ tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp pomegranate molasses (or lemon juice if unavailable)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp Sumac powder -If you don’t have Sumac, you can substitute this with pomegranate powder (anardana powder).
👩🍳Instructions:
-
- Chop finely: Using a sharp knife or food processor, finely chop the tomatoes, onion, parsley, chili, and cucumber if using. You’re aiming for a chunky salsa-like texture.
- Mix well: In a bowl, combine all the chopped ingredients. Stir in olive oil, pomegranate molasses (or lemon juice), and salt
-
Optional seasoning: Add Sumac or pomegranate powder extra depth and red pepper flakes if you like it spicier.
-
Let it rest: For best flavor, let it sit for 10–15 minutes before serving
❄️ Tips
-
- This can be made with or without tomatoes, pictured below is with tomatoes and in the video i made it without tomatoes.
-
For a smoother texture, pulse everything in a food processor briefly.
-
Serve with grilled meats, pita bread, or as part of a mezze spread.
-
Adjust chili to taste—traditional Ezme can be fiery!
